1)  Midyear Meeting Brochure/Agenda – Celebrating 40 Years of CARH’s Leadership in the Rural Housing Industry

CARH is pleased to present the finalized agenda for the 2020 Midyear Meeting, which will be held from January 27-29 at The Ritz Carlton, New Orleans, in New Orleans, Louisiana. You can also visit the CARH website, www.carh.org, to download the brochure or registration form; for details on making hotel reservations; and to become a meeting sponsor.

As always, during the Midyear Meeting, attendees will receive the most up-to-date trends and regulatory and legislative news impacting the affordable rural housing industry. Educational sessions will also be featured during the meeting. As you will see in the brochure, sessions include:

Additionally, all of CARH’s standing committees will meet. The committee chairs want to hear from you! If you are interested in placing a particular issue on the agenda for any of the following committee meetings, e-mail your suggestion to carh@carh.org:

  • Management Committee
  • Development and Owner Committees (joint session)

Please keep in mind that the conference begins on Monday, January 27th at 9:30 a.m. and concludes on Wednesday, January 29th at 12:15 p.m. I

Please note, to receive the discounted accommodation rate of $279 per night, you MUST use Group Code WNLWNLA for deluxe king accommodations and Group Code WNLWNLB for deluxe double accommodations. Your hotel reservation must be booked no later than Friday, January 3, 2020. If the CARH room block sells out before January 3, there is no guarantee you’ll receive the preferred rate.

2)  Reminder: Awards Nomination Information

As a reminder, during our Opening Reception on Monday, January 27th, CARH’s 2019 Member of the Year, Harry L. Tomlinson, and State Affiliated Association of the Year awards will be presented. The CARH Awards Committee – Tanya Eastwood, Mel Nagata, and Katie Alitz - are now accepting nominations for these awards. All nominations should be sent to the CARH Awards Committee in care of the CARH national office, 116 S. Fayette Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314, no later than Friday, December 27, 2019.

To nominate a CARH member for the Member of the Year award, send a detailed letter to the Awards Committee informing them about the person’s commitment to CARH and to the affordable housing industry in general.

The Harry L. Tomlinson award was established to recognize meritorious achievement by a public servant on the local, state or federal level in furthering affordable and rural rental housing. To nominate an individual for this award, please send the Awards Committee the Nomination Form and supporting documentation which describes nominee’s commitment to CARH and to the affordable housing industry. The State Affiliated Association of the Year award recognizes and encourages excellence in the programs, services and management of CARH’s 14 state affiliated associations. To nominate a state affiliated association for this award, send the Awards Committee the Application and supporting documentation which provides a synopsis of that association’s activities and accomplishments as well as other documentation in support of the application. We would encourage state associations that have been winners in the past to again apply, especially if the association has undertaken some new or unique initiatives.
